Salary Payments lets you run payroll directly from Round - upload a file, review it, and send or schedule in seconds. Everything happens in Round. No more logging into a separate banking portal, no more re-entering payments by hand every month.

TLDR:

Salary Payments lets you run payroll directly from Round - upload a file, review it, and send or schedule in seconds.
Instead of switching between payroll software, a banking portal, and a spreadsheet, you can:

  • Upload your payroll file and have it mapped automatically
  • Review and edit every payment before it goes out
  • Route the run through approval before anything is sent
  • Schedule the whole run for a date that suits you
  • Pay directly from your Business Account or Money Market Fund
  • Reconcile automatically to Xero or NetSuite

Everything happens in Round. No more logging into a separate banking portal, no more re-entering payments by hand every month.
At Round, we build for finance teams who already manage invoices, treasury, and company cash in one place. Payroll now lives there too.

Today, Salary Payments runs in GBP.

Why We Built This:

We noticed a clear pattern: payroll was the one payment workflow still happening entirely outside Round.
We validated this directly with customers. We spoke to finance teams and founders. The pain point was consistent.
Payroll cash sat idle for days or weeks before payday, and moving it was still a manual, multi-system chore every month.

When you run payroll, you need:

  • Cash ready, in the right place, every time, without fail
  • The option to keep that cash working until it's actually needed
  • One place to do it, not three

But traditional payroll setups make this hard. Payments happen in payroll software or a bank, cash sits in a current account "just in case," and none of it talks to the rest of finance's workflow.

So the challenge was clear:
How do we let finance teams keep earning yield on payroll cash, while guaranteeing it's ready, on time, every payday?

The Challenge: A Payment That Can't Be Late:

At the end of the day, payroll is just a payment - money moving from one account to a set of recipients.
Round already does that for invoices and business payments. That part was never the hard part.
The hard part: this payment can't be late. It has many recipients in a single batch. And HMRC is one of those recipients too, with its own deadline, not just employees.

We had to design a way to:

  • Keep funds earning yield in the MMA for as long as possible
  • Know precisely when funds need to move, so they land on time, weekends and bank holidays included
  • Treat HMRC as just another scheduled recipient, not a separate manual job
  • Put a proper approval step in front of the run, so nothing this size or this sensitive goes out unchecked
  • Reconcile the whole run the same way as any other bulk payment in Round

It's not just about scheduling a transfer. It's about building the certainty underneath.

What's Next:

This is just the beginning.
Right now, Salary Payments gives you one place to upload, review, schedule, and fund payroll, earning yield until the moment it's needed.
Next, we're taking the manual part out entirely.

You'll be able to:

  • Hand over your payroll file once, and let it run automatically every cycle
  • Let approvals route to the right people, with no one chasing
  • Let Round manage liquidity and auto-fund the run, so there's no drawdown to think about
  • Run payroll in EUR and USD, not just GBP

It's still your payroll, your rules, your approvals. You'll just see less of the process, and get a notification when it's done.

More yield. Less admin. Let us show you.

Skip the months-long implementation. Round is built to plug into your existing stack and start working for you immediately.
